The Popguns – Why You Fell In Love With Me

• “Why You Fell In Love With Me” set to a picture of the housing EP.

7.8 “Great Indie Pop from England”

From their EP “Still Waiting For The Winter” (Matinée matinee-092) released in July 2015.

The Popguns are ageing like a fine wine, a bit like my old pal Cookie (it was great to catch up with you yesterday mate!)

Can’t begin to tell you how disappointed I was to hear that Allo Darlin’ have split; there’s going to be a gaping black hole in the wistful indie pop jangle market. On this evidence, however, The Popguns are certainly doing their bit. After some 15 years out the game, they returned to action in 2014. Singer Wendy and guitarist/songwriter (and her now husband) Simon Pickles still front the Brighton sextet, which played a part in the British jangle pop scene of the 1980s and 1990s. New to the group is Kate Mander, whose vocals add harmonies to Wendy’s lead. On today’s featured track, it’s Kate who steps up to take the lead.

Two strikers up top; it’s the way to go Popguns ; – )

This was another heard on Rocker’s August 2015 show on Dandelion Radio.

You’ll find it at Bandcamp.
