Dagmar Aigner – Don’t Touch Happiness

8.1 “Fantastic Electronica from Germany”

Opening track on her album “Through The Night” (Kontinent Stimme) released in July 2015.

Convivial New Year salutations fellow earthlings of 2017, so glad you’re still living.

As pretty as a twinkling star and a million times more useful, this little beauty can kick-off (what I’m sure will be) a happy New Year of sparkling new music discoveries.

Although, if Jools Holland’s Hootenanny bobbins is anything to go by, you won’t find them on the BBC.

This one jumped out from Mark Whitby’s August 2015 show on Dandelion Radio, which you can listen to anytime you like.

Dagmar, from München, is a singer-songwriter who has been active since at least 2010, but maybe earlier, and is now releasing her music via her own Kontinent Stimme label. On this particular track, Dagmar plays organ and sings, and she’s ably supported by Bernd Jestram (of Tarwater) on electronic trickery.

Her album is available for checking out at Bandcamp.
