BLiNDNESS – Broken

• “Broken” set to a picture of the housing album cover.

7.8 “Great Indie Rock / Alternative Rock from England”

From their debut album “Wrapped In Plastic” (Saint Marie Records) released in July 2015.

What you really need after all that festive niceness is to be slowly but surely bludgeoned by sledgehammer, and slashed with the occasional bit of barbed wire, so here you go, this’ll have you sorted out in no time.

Formed in 2008, Blindness features Beth Rettig (vocals, programming, noise), Emma Quick (bass, noise), and Debbie Smith (guitar, feedback, noise), the latter being guitarist for 90’s bands Curve and Echobelly and, later, Snowpony. Taking sonic tips from The Jesus and Mary Chain as well as My Bloody Valentine and with the hook sensibility of PJ Harvey, Blindness are a band with a machine gun etiquette, showing “exquisite warmth” in their “seductive dark wave electro pop.”

Heard on the August 2015 edition of the Lee Adcock show on Dandelion Radio. I was going to message them and suggest that they consider embedding their Mixcloud archive on the same page as the tracklistings but, I’ll be darned, they’ve gone and done it. Spooky, but in a good way!

You’ll find this one at Bandcamp.
