Eek – Mouled El Ghoul

• “Mouled El Ghoul” set to a picture of the housing album cover. Thanks to 100COPIES MUSIC.

8.1 “Fantastic Middle Eastern from Egypt”

From their mini-album “Kahraba” (Nashazphone NP-015DI) released in July 2015.

This intense electro trio from Cairo combine the keyboards of main man Islam Chipsy with traditional Egyptian drummers Khaled Mando and Islam Tata. This one is, in fact, a variant of an old Egyptian traditional.

Now that’s what I call a cover.

Heard on Kevin Robinson’s August 2015 show on Dandelion Radio.

You’ll find it at Boomkat.

As is so often the case, I’m completely distracted by my inner music library which has me singing (badly) “Can’t get no gyro smoking in a bar in Cairo“…

….it seems rude not to share my ear-worm so, with apologies to Eek for hijacking their post, here’s a heavy manners bonus from Amazulu!
